Artist Highlight – Kelly O’Neal

You may have read about Leftbank Art in a post from late last year, but maybe what you didn’t know is the name of one of our best-selling Leftbank Artists. Kelly O’Neal is a successful interior designer based out of Dallas, Texas, who brought his designer’s eye to a new medium – paint on canvas.

A Texan through and through, O’Neal was raised in rural Texas, earned his B.F.A. in creative arts from the University of North Texas, and currently resides in Dallas. O’Neal got his entrepreneurial start when he opened a retail clothing store with his cousin.

They ran the business together for ten years, and he then left to open a home furnishings retail store, Design Legacy. For 21 years, O’Neal has been the creative force behind Design Legacy, which has now become a celebrated home furnishings collection only available to wholesale clients. Most recently added to his repertoire are his own textile and art lines.

In addition to creating his original paintings, he has partnered with Leftbank Art to produce Giclee reproduction prints of the originals. O’Neal’s aesthetic blends modern sensibility with old world technique, and he freely moves through centuries to craft a finished piece. His sense of color is unparalleled and his flair for composition apparent.
