For over 90 years, Calligaris has been the leader in “smart” design. What does “smart” mean to us? Smart is harmony between technique and aesthetics, rationality and emotions. It is where the form meets the function.
Calligaris was founded by Antonio Calligaris in 1923 in Manzano, Italy as a small artisan workshop dealing with the production of just one chair model. It was during the 60’s that the third generation of the Calligaris family embraced the most innovative technologies. They started using materials other than wood: plastic, metal, fabrics, methacrylate and glass. This was cutting-edge and resulted in the international development of the company.
