History of Innovation

It all started in 1971 with a good idea in the spirit of the flower power generation – beanbags of the founder, Flemming Højfeldt. At the end of the 80’s Innovation Randers A/S was ready for a new adventure. For 15 years Innovation Living functioned as a supplier for the furniture industry, but at the end of the 80’s the desire to produce own design took over. As the concept grew, Innovation™ Living was rewarded with several design prizes and engaged in a very fruitful cooperation with the famous Danish designer, Verner Panton.

Innovation USA was founded in 1991 and today Innovation Living is an international furniture enterprise with production facilities in Denmark and China. Innovation USA Inc, Dba. Innovation Living Inc. is based in Irvine, Los Angeles with distribution warehouses in New Jersey and California. The company is supplying and servicing USA, Canada and Latin America under the management and administration of Kjeld Jensen, CEO.

Per Weiss

The Danish designer, Per Weiss was born in 1959 in Denmark and is the Creative Director of Innovation Living Design Office International. As an all-round creative person, he started his career as a professional musician, while already studying at the School of Architecture in Aarhus. Then giving a higher priority to his design visions, he worked for some of the famous Danish architects, Friis & Moltke and Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen.

In 1988 he graduated as an industrial designer. He has been part of the company since 1989 and is the driving force behind the constant creative development of the collections. Inspired by a Scandinavian design tradition as well as fashion and lifestyle trends, he creates long-lasting design with a contemporary appeal.

Oliver and Lukas

Oliver and Lukas WeissKrogh founded Studio WeissKrogh in 2012 and have since designed products for various furniture manufacturers such as Innovation Living, BOGO and Frandsen Group. Studio WeissKrogh is focused on designing valuable, carefully thought out commercial and environment friendly products that will make a difference for the end user.

They are two ambitious brothers with great passion for furniture design. They grew up in a creative home with parents educated in architecture and industrial design. Growing up they traveled around the world always with design and culture in focus. This upbringing has given them a broad knowledge of the furniture industry, design and architecture. Oliver and Lukas WeissKrogh are sons of the designer Per Weiss, Creative Director at Innovation Living and Anne Mette Krogh, Global Interior Designer at LEGO.

Two generations behind Frej

The Frej design is a result of a close partnership between father Per Weiss and his son Oliver WeissKrogh.

Frej is based on the original ideas behind the classic Danish furniture designs in the 50s and 60s which is interpreted in a contemporary style with a future aim. Frej armrest fits Splitback, Asmund, Dublexo and Fiftynine – a modern multifunctional design for the everyday use.

A 3″ durable and reversible top mattress that will give an even and supportive sleeping surface on all adjustable sofa beds. Cover is breathable, removable and machine-washable at hot/120°.

The top mattress comes with a bag for storage when not in use. The bag helps minimizing the volume of the Inno topper for better storage.
