Panteón Nube Tomb

The Panteón Nube tomb offers a beautiful mausoleum is Espinardo, Murcia, Spain. Designed by Clavel Arquitectos, the space contains multiple removable facades and unfolding boards. The architects say the design was inspired by moving from life to death. “To die means a transition between this world and others that nobody knows. The tomb is where this transition takes place.”

The Traveling Lola

The Lola Section in white vinyl is a famous piece around Hold It Contemporary Home. That is because it has been seen at events all over Southern California in the last year. From the Newport Beach Film Festival, to the San Diego Polo Fields, the “traveling” Lola has provided stylish lounges to many different groups and venues. Southern California usually does not need a ton of extremely warm accessories for practical reasons, but even though we might not need them to stay warm, we say “yes, please” to these cozy pillows by Auskin. Reading Between the Lines

This piece of architecture is the perfect example of less is more. “Reading Between the Lines” designed by Pieterjan Gijis and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh blends into it’s scenic surroundings do to it’s lack of materials. As Domus is quoted saying “in this way, the church is simultaneously both present and absent. Depending on the perspective of the beholder, the church may be perceived as a full mass or seemingly dissolve into the landscape.”

Olympic Games Poster Design

The London Summer Olympic’s are approaching quickly and the design community is supporting the 2012 Games by creating the Olympic and Paralympic posters. 6 posters for the Olympics and 6 for the Paralympics were design by Ofili, Martin Creed, Anthea Hamilton, Howard Hodgkin, Bridget Riley  Rachel Whiteread and Emin, Fiona Banner, Michael Craig-Martin, Gary Hume, Sarah Morris, and Bob and Roberta Smith respectively. JFeather Art Show

San Diego based artist JFeather offers more than just “graffiti art”. His art moves beyond that stereotypical art brand and combines aerosol, acrylic paint, digital prints and his own personal pop art for interesting and amazing visuals. See for yourself while JFeather’s art is on display this weekend at the Alexander Salazar Fine Art studio in Downtown San Diego. Check out the 17 pieces on display and marvel at his use of ordinary materials to create unique, modern pieces of art. Each of these pieces will be installed at Eden later this month. The show is Saturday, November 12 from 7pm until 10pm.

Earth-Scraper

Architects are constantly dealing with building codes and city heigh limits, but Mexico City’s 8-story height limit hasn’t stopped one architect from design a plan for a 65-story building. BNKR Arquitectura isn’t ignoring the building codes, they are simply going down, not up. The 65-story earth-scraper would dive more than 980 feet into the ground.  At an estimated cost of $800 million to create this stunning piece of design, the earth-scraper would offer shopping, homes, offices and a museum.
