Copeland Furniture has been producing quality wood products out of Vermont since 1972. Their Catalina Collection combines the clean, unadorned lines of the International Modernists with organic and geometric forms, suggestive of the works of America’s Mid-Century Modern designers. The years following WWII were a time of uncertainty but also of great hope and progress. Designs of the period reflected that sense of hope and the promise of an ideal future. In our current period, one finds comfort and nostalgia in Catalina’s retro-modern shapes and sensibilities. All pieces are crafted in solid American black walnut or maple hardwood, with various sizes and finishes available.
See the complete Catalina line and other collections by Copeland at Hold It Contemporary Home.

It’s amazing what color can do. This stunning Danish home belongs to Tine Kjeldsen, owner and designer of home ware company Tine K Home. Her aesthetic is modern in its minimalism and color palette. Lots of white, with doses of gray and bits of black and plum. There isn’t a stitch of modern furnishings to be seen, but the look is undeniably crisp and clean. This is a great example of thinking out of the box when it comes to design. Read more …

If you haven’t been to Craft & Commerce in Little Italy, grab your friends and run there! Your first impression will be the rustic-cool design. Everything from the wall of books back-dropped by broken mirror in the dining room, to the credit card number cut-outs at the bar, all dimly lit, contribute to the maniacal and mysterious energy of this place. The crafty drinks being served up at the bar complement the unique ambiance of the establishment perfectly. Between the Absinthe and the Mezcal, you’ll definitely start feeling further and further away from your everyday bland vodka concoctions. In fact, they don’t even serve vodka. Read more …
