This Airstream, which is home to Matthew Hofmann, is an incredible Home Tour on Apartment Therapy. The interior design and the functionality of the space was so amazing, that we had to share. Hofman is an architect and lives in the 160 square foot Airstream and rents the land. He restored it to beyond its former glory and turned it into his dream home.

The San Diego Blackout is officially over. The power outage shut down our entire county (6 million people) and left everyone sitting in the dark. Hold It Contemporary Home did close early yesterday due to the lack of power, but now that the power has been restore, we are open for our normal hours today (Friday, September 9). But sitting in the pitch black got us thinking about the use of “blackouts” in modern design. So after some web browsing this morning, here are some great rooms that have blackout design. Standing around waiting for the subway is one of the dull daily tasks that millions face around the world. This unique design by Danish Firm Bjarke Ingels Group offers the residents of Taipei, Taiwan a building that encompasses a city park, a rooftop lounge area, hotel, shops and an auditorium. The cube shape building, which features cut-outs in the design, will be created with concrete lamellas to create the stacked look, while providing steps, and seating areas. The building has been titled TEK or Technology, Entertainment & Knowledge Center, and obviously it will contain all of those things.

Jawbone, a company known for their cutting edge bluetooth heasdsets, has come out with a cutting edge wireless speaker called Jambox. Simply connect to a bluetooth enabled device such as your phone, MP3 player, or iPad, and Jambox is your go-anywhere hi-fi speaker or speakerphone. Jawbone is touting the Jambox as “the smallest, best sounding wireless speaker and speakerphone on the planet.” That is a big claim, but the styling alone may win you over. The minimalist designs and trendy colors would look perfect as an accessory for on-the-go fashionistas, or as an accessory in a modernist home.
