Meet cast members Turtle, Rick Kane, and Chandler, and discuss what makes this film a timeless classic with cast, friends and surf legends alike. Where were you in 1987?

San Diego Restaurant Week

It’s almost that time of year again when you get to treat your taste buds to a night out, at San Diego Restaurant Week! From Sunday, January 13th through Friday January 18th, foodies will eat their way through over 180 participating restaurants throughout San Diego. Leave the cooking to someone else and join over 140,000 diners in the celebration of Restaurant Week and indulge in three-courses prepared special for this occassion only at discounted prices with prix-fixe lunches priced at $10, $15, and $20 and three-course prix-fixe dinners are $20, $30, or $40. No tickets necessary for this event, just make reservations for any of the participating locations, show up, choose from their prix-fixe menu and let your taste buds enjoy!

The Nutcracker by City Ballet

City Ballet of San Diego’s Nutcracker was voted “San Diego’s Best Nutcracker” by San Diego Dance Alliance Tommy Awards. This lavish production is fashioned after the choreogrpahy of the great Russian master Lev Ivanov who created the very first Nutcracker nore than 100 years ago. Virtuoso dancing is complimented by opulent sets, costumes and Peter Tchaikovsky’s brillant score performed live by The City Ballet Orchestra with John Nettles conducting. This beloved holiday family favorite follows the young Clara on an exciting journey through an enchanted dreamworld, where she encounters the Nutcracker Prince and the Sugar Plum Fairy. City Ballet offers 11 performances at the historic Spreckels Theatre located downtown San Diego.

The Poinsettia Bowl

San Diego County Credit Union’s 8th annual pre-Christmas holiday game, the Poinsettia Bowl, will be played December 20, 2012 at Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley between San Diego State University of the Mountain West Conference (MW) and Brigham Young University of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). This nationally recognized California event features all the pomp and circumstance of a major college post-season football game and will air nationally on ESPN.

Poinsettia Bowl Gaslamp March

Festivities for the 2012 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl kick off at 6:00pm in downtown San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter at the Five Star Tours Poinsettia Bowl Gaslamp March. Marching bands and spirit squads from the participating universities will parade from each end of 5th Avenue performing holiday classics, and meeting up at Market Street for a heart-pounding Battle of the Bands!  After the dust has settled at Market Street, bands will continue on with their parade of holiday favorites.  The event is free for spectators.
