It on October 1st and 2nd and will feature local artists, music and of course, food and wine. If you are not looking specifically for a piece of art, it is still worth the trip to Old Town to explore the historic area and all the crafts offered. In about two weeks, on September 10th, Ocean Beach pier will be full of music and art for the Jazz 88 Ocean Beach Music and Art Festival. The event features multiple jazz performers and local artists. Tickets to the event are $30 and that includes all of the performances and access to “Art Row” where you can purchase art from any of the Southern California artists and galleries. 8 stages will be in place for entertainment, which will last until around 8 in the evening.

The 3 day event offers more than 40 galleries from across the globe displaying their art, as well many local artists and art labs. Live music is taking over Hillcrest this weekend for CityFest 2011. Performers include Run Honey, F.U.Z.Z., Liveagain and many more. The 27th Annual event will feature a game arena, waterslide and the re-lighting of the historic Hillcrest sign. It all begins Sunday at noon, so join in the fun in Hillcrest.

The San Diego Museum of Art offers more than just paintings, sculptures and photography. For 3 nights in August, the SDMART shows films on the east lawn for anyone to enjoy. This year is the 11th Anniversary of Screen on the Green so grab a blanket and enjoy the free show. Visit the SDMART website for more information.

It is the time of year again for Southern California music lovers- the FM 94/9 Independence Jam kicks off Sunday, June 5th, with a line up from all across the country. This year’s event sold out pretty quickly due to the great lineup. The Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre will explode with music all day Saturday with performances by Cold War Kids, Lykke Li and  The Silent Comedy. If you are lucky enough to have tickets, it will surely be a great show.
