Luxury Tiny House on Wheels

Leaf House is the creation of small home enthusiast Laird Herbert from Whitehorse, Canada, who was inspired by the idea of building his own home.

The Version. 2 luxury rolling house features many self-sustaining elements including a composting toilet, propane tankless hot water system, propane GE range half fridge, Ecoheat electric baseboards, LED and halogen lighting and a 35-gallon water storage unit.

Tour de Fat San Diego

That’s right, the Tour de Fat will once again be meandering and pandering through 15 U.S. cities spreading the good word about the positive societal offerings of the bicycle. The Bike Parade begins at 11 am from Golden Hill Park on Saturday, September 29th, but be there early to register.

Wheelchair-Accessible Electric Car

The Kenguru is an electric vehicle made specifically for those in wheelchairs. It’s a fast and affordable way to give mobility to a large portion of the population, and has received lots of great feedback and reception. Up next from Kenguru is a slightly larger vehicle design to accommodate larger wheelchairs and allow those with limited upper body strength to steer easier.

Surprised Motorists Make Sudden Street Art

Ingredients: 500 liters of brightly-colored, eco-friendly, wash-away water-based paint, one elevated location with video camera and a whole mess of (2000) cars just waiting at an intersection to be unwitting participants in creating a huge mural. Guerilla artists dumped blue, yellow, purple and red along each major motorway crossing at a single (huge) central space during a pause in traffic, all from their own well-timed vehicular conveyances stopped on the various sides. When they peeled away, bicyclists and moped riders began to trail thin lines of color, crossed in turn by larger leavings from four-wheeled vehicles around them. Mixed paints overlapped and bled to form new colors along the way. A beautifully simple act of interactive and chaotic art on the street – fortunately, no drivers were too distracted to stay the course despite the rather complex nature of this particular intersection.

Riverside Museum

The Riverside Museum in Glasgow offers not only a huge collection of transportation history, but now the building itself has become a reason to visit. The design by Zaha Hadid Architects features a cutting edge design that connects the museum to the ship building history of the area around it. The Museum opened on June 21 of this year and the museum had this to say about the design “Glasgow’s history as an industrial giant, a global leader in engineering and shipbuilding, is celebrated in an architectural masterpiece which shows that we remain at the cutting edge of design and technology.”

Artist Jeff Koons Unveils 17th BMW Art Car

On June 1st American artist Jeff Koons unveiled and signed the BMW Art Car he designed at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the same place where Roy Lichtenstein first presented and signed his Art Car in 1977. Since 1975, artists from throughout the world have turned BMW automobiles into art. Many of the cars by artists such as Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Holzer have been exhibited in renowned museums throughout the world including the Louvre, the Guggenheim Museums, and the Shanghai Art Museum. The BMW Koons designed is the 17th in the series of BMW Art Cars. Read more …
