Steam Bridge

Normally, when piping stretches across channels and streams, the result is ugly, rusted pipes, causing the area to look less than perfection. But MJP architects have designed a bridge to hide the piping and wires, with a sleek, steel design. The curved lines floating across the steel offer venting for the wires, as well as helping reduce glare for trains, boats and runners.

30-Story Window

Chicago architecture firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill have created a design for the Wujiang, China skyline that will feature a 30-story operable window. The 75-story building was selected as the design for the city of Wujiang and will allow those on all sides to enjoy the views.

Looping Pier

St. Petersburg, Florida is looking for a cool new design for their pier and BIG Architects is proposing a wild wave design. The wave offers a “beach” at the end of the pier for residents and visitors to enjoy the water, far from land. The 360 degree loop creates a fun focal point, while the rest of the design houses everything from shops, to a pool. St. Petersburg is considering a couple other designs but this one is really making waves.

Umicore Hoboken

This unique building design by Conix Architects boasts a bold way to spice up an office building. The ribbon design weaves in and out between floors through the 9-story building. The building finished construction back in 2009 creating an innovation and creative space for work.

Art After Dark: Night Odyssey at OCMA

The Oceanside Museum of Art will be hosting the newest Art After Dark event on January 27th. Night Odyssey will feature live artists creating art under a black light display, while guests enjoy cocktails and appetizers. The idea behind each Art After Dark is to create an art party to help find new creative ways to view art, whether it is live music, thematic art or interactive stations.
