700 Palms Residence

palms1

The Venice, California based 700 Palms Residence, designed and completed in 2003 by Steven Ehrlich Architects, leverages raw and honest materials to create a sort of “modern bohemian grittiness” that allows this impressive home to blend with the surrounding community. Designed on a corner lot, this energy efficient home boasts a layout that melts the barriers between indoors and out, creating flexible spaces that take advantage of the benign Venice climate. The design integrates concrete flooring to absorb the sun’s warmth in the winter and sliding glass doors that provide ventilation and let in plenty of natural light. Read more …

Pallet Fever

palet4

Handcrafted Wood Glasses

wood1

Created by Milan designer Matteo Ragni, these beautiful handcrafted spectacles, called W-eye, are made entirely out of wood and aluminum. The way in which the wood is worked allows the frame to mould easily to fit the wearer. Designed without hinges, these frames are primarily intended for use at home.  The spectacles can be constructed with 6 different types of wood including cherry, ash, ebony, walnut, zebrano, and mahogany.  Read more …
