On June 1st American artist Jeff Koons unveiled and signed the BMW Art Car he designed at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the same place where Roy Lichtenstein first presented and signed his Art Car in 1977. Since 1975, artists from throughout the world have turned BMW automobiles into art. Many of the cars by artists such as Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Holzer have been exhibited in renowned museums throughout the world including the Louvre, the Guggenheim Museums, and the Shanghai Art Museum. The BMW Koons designed is the 17th in the series of BMW Art Cars. Read more …

The Safe Trestles design competition, organized by Architecture for Humanity, is a global design contest to develop a safe and low-impact solution for people attempting to gain access to Trestles Beach, home to one of North America’s most prized wave and surf spots.
