On June 1st American artist Jeff Koons unveiled and signed the BMW Art Car he designed at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the same place where Roy Lichtenstein first presented and signed his Art Car in 1977. Since 1975, artists from throughout the world have turned BMW automobiles into art. Many of the cars by artists such as Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Holzer have been exhibited in renowned museums throughout the world including the Louvre, the Guggenheim Museums, and the Shanghai Art Museum.
